Girl's Home

Thousands of children throughout S.E. Asia do not have safe and secure housing or shelter. Unfortunately many children are left homeless and sometimes orphaned due to the high level of HIV Aids, malaria and being displaced due to war and poverty and/or are abandoned because their parents cannot afford to feed them. K.I.D.S. provides support for a number of Orphanages/Shelters in Cambodia and on the Thailand/Myanmar border. K.I.D.S. has established a Girl’s Home in Siem Reap, Cambodia, that provides a positive loving environment for eleven girls ranging from 4 to 18 years of age. A social work trained House Mother runs the home and the girls are able to go to school to study in both Khmer and English as well they are able to take traditional dance.

K.I.D.S. assists families with roofing and housing, working in partnership with other grassroot organizations K.I.D.S. identifies families that need assistance with housing. We employ local villagers to do the building, which supports the economy of the community. Adrianne and Rick oversee all the buying of materials and the building of the houses. K.I.D.S. has also worked with a local NGO in Mae Sot, on the Thailand/Myanmar border, to buy a large piece of land for an orphanage and free school that houses over 80 children and educates over 280 children in total.
